Abdul Husein, Director of IT

Abdul Husein joined SMASHotels in 2015 as the Director or IT and currently oversees the portfolio’s day to day and long term technology needs. With over 14 years of experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues, Mr. Husein is able to clearly understand problems and find positive solutions through use of troubleshooting, problem solving, teaming and communication skills.

Mr. Husein started in the IT world at a support center at Stephen Austin State University. He went on to oversee the call center at American National Insurance and most recently oversaw technical support operations at multiple properties for Wyndham Hotels. Through his years, he assisted in creating Standard Operating Procedures, as well as develop Disaster Recovery plans which included off site backups. He developed Capital Expense budgets for each fiscal year and ensured the maximization of the budget by recognizing and eliminating wasteful spending, optimized technology expenses, developed operational tools that greatly reduced user support requests, and optimized technical support requests through help desk platform.

Mr. Husein is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a specialty in Political Science and a minor in General Business.
